This position reports to the VP of Product Development & Product Management and will work in Elkhart, IN, Chicago, IL, or Troy, MI .

About the position

As a Product Manager in the OEM, CPV or Service and Aftermarket team, you will be involved in shaping our company's future by driving the success of our products from conception to market. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product portfolio and contribute to our company's ongoing growth and innovation. This role ensures that the product categories within assigned scope are optimized so that they meet the ambitions of Dometic, deliver against the financial targets, and create products and concepts for the target customers. This position will create and manage various product categories, define market needs and consumer trends, and ensure flawless execution from cradle to grave. This is a position that requires extensive travel, potentially even between 25% and 50%.

Your main responsibilities

Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's business goals and market trends. Formulates and recommends strategic plans, roadmaps and objectives for marketing, product, service, and distribution activities. Identified white spaces for growth, blue oceans, and red seas.

Market Research: Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform product development decisions.

Product Roadmap: Create and manage a clear and actionable product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer value and business impact. Manages product development schedules to ensure critical launch windows are delivered on with the full complement of go to market support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to bring products to market successfully. Creating plans and driving execution of marketing initiatives of products and services while working closely with sales/marketing to coordinate promotional programs, advertising support, product launches and distribution needs within the assigned products. Key partner with Marketing to support advertising, digital content creation and creative input.

Product Development: Lead the product development process, from concept to launch, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget. Recommends and executes new products, product modifications, and/or improvements based on market research, consumer feedback, market knowledge, and sales personnel information.

Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor and manage the entire product lifecycle, including product launches, updates, and end-of-life strategies. Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of key strategies to meet changing economic and business environment conditions.

Customer Focus: Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and gather feedback to continually improve product offerings. Significant interactions with outside customers, coordinated with sales through extensive travel and event attendance, to include trade shows, customer presentations, dealer events, etc. Own voice-of-customer activities to understand market need and key stakeholders, manage product launches, and distribution strategies.

Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends and competitors' products, identifying opportunities for differentiation. Utilizes sales planning and market research to accomplish ongoing analysis of competitive products, selling techniques, consumer research, marketing legislation, new products, pricing, and distribution.

Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of product development, including budgeting and forecasting. Ensures that business meets crucial strategic plan elements including revenue and profitability, while maintaining adherence to budgeted spending parameters. Administers pricing programs and policies, including quantity breaks, terms and conditions of sales.
