The Business Intelligence Lead has all the responsibilities of the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst for the intake, creation, and delivery of high-quality internal and external reporting and adherence to processes put in place by CHN Information Technology (IT) and the BI Manager. In addition to these responsibilities, this position serves as the primary back-up to the BI Manager, with technical and project management responsibilities that ensure the department can continue to deliver data and reporting to our customers in support or in the absence of the BI Manager. 

Essential Functions

  • Establishes strong partnership with assigned stakeholders (CHN & PP Affiliates) that is built on transparency, professional knowledge and credibility, and a commitment to identifying ideas and actions that deliver the best BI services 
  • Develop, evolve, deploy, and manage analytic and reporting services and processes always ensuring that deliverables meet the requirements of customers and CHN IT’s business goals and objectives 
  • Coordinate and prioritize analytic projects including client communication, planning, and identifying operational process flow; ability to plan, manage and execute projects within targeted timelines 
  • Performs advanced statistical analyses including opportunity assessments, clinical and financial risk tracking, trend identification and predictive modeling exercises using Power BI as well as other analytic tools 
  • Delivers results with analytic insights, interpretations, and recommendations; presents in a professional manner with a high customer service focus 
  • Reviews analytic deliverable, identifies and resolves data issues, and provide recommendations for investigations 
  • Under the guidance of the BI Manager; design, develop, and maintain data systems, dashboard, reports, and other BI tools 
  • Provide communication to various stakeholders, up to and including Senior Leadership, to identify their data analysis needs and deliver actionable insights 
  • Support the BI Manager with the interpretation of data analysis results and presenting findings to Senior Leadership and applicable stakeholders 
  • Develop new systems and process to address novel challenges and improve existing workflows 
  • Implements improvements to services and provides clear program recommendations to other departments (internal and external) 
  • Effectively operationalize CHN’s analytic and reporting services, policies and procedures 
  • Design, develop-evolve, and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with governance policies 
  • Propose new and state-of-the-art technologies and processes that will improve efficiency and enhance the reporting platform 
  • Creates and promotes a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Ensures compliance with all CHN and affiliate policies, as well as all state and federal regulations 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to CHN and Planned Parenthood’s mission related to health equity, especially centering racial equity, and deep sense of accountability to community 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and the impact of structural racism on healthcare systems 
  • Provides positive and development feedback and accountability related to practices including, but not limited to, equity

Qualifications and Experience (Required)

  • 5+ years of experience using data systems such as Tableau and Power BI (including SQL query development) 
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare data statistics, clinical quality assessment, outcomes reporting, and care management 
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), especially S3, Athena, Glue, and Lambda 
  • Communicate flawlessly with clients on various types of projects 
  • Knowledge of competitive or state-of-the-art analytic and reporting services 
  • High degree of experience applying advanced statistical and/or econometric models in health care analytics 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software (Excel, etc.)
