About the role
Description
Working side by side with our CFO and Accounting Manager to make a positive difference in the accounting and finance function. Collaborating with all departments, this individual will be responsible for providing support to the period-end accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and risk management.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reconcile bank account and credit card accounts every week for 78 stores.
- Reconcile change funding and investigate any differences (amount or timing) with District Managers.
- Research unidentified payments for proper posting.
- Responsible for reviewing chargebacks on accounts and communication with credit card companies.
- Responsible for period-end closing activity including report generation and distribution.
- Communicate with the bank on changes to store change funding requirements.
- Manage and perform payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Support the Asset Protection group regarding safety and bank activity.
- Provide quality, professional customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the accounting department.
- Participate in team planning meetings.
- Meet defined department goals and activity metrics.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
What a Successful Staff Accountant Brings to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Preferred).
- Certified Payroll Professional (Preferred).
- Work experience should include 3+ (minimum) years of demonstrated success in accounts receivable, cash applications, customer service, and general administration.
- Restaurant industry accounting experience (Preferred).
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with payroll software and experience processing payroll.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external sources.
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented.
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Must be able to sit for an extended period and have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Thoroughly honest and forthright with impeccable integrity.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and effective time-management skills.
- Ability to create solutions that drive results.
- Performs well in a lean, fast-paced environment. Adaptability and flexibility are necessary.
- Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of the Phase Three Brands Team.
