Job Summary:
Caterpillar is seeking a well-qualified Principal Digital Product Manager; Dynamics 365 Finance, who will be responsible for supporting the finance functional needs of the Caterpillar Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) template for our Caterpillar Dealers. The Caterpillar ERP product will be built using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and aim to improve for dealer operations with core financial and accounting processes by aligning the platform with business objectives, finance processes, and compliance requirements.

The Caterpillar ERP template seeks to transform our operations by providing our Dealers with a modern ERP that will drive financial efficiencies and effectiveness for their finance business operations.

What You Will Do:

The Principal Digital Product Manager; Dynamics 365 Finance will partner with ERP stakeholders to generate finance requirements for the ERP to ensure the system supports efficient, accurate, and compliant financial operations. The product manager coordinates with product development engineers to track and communicate design, development, support, and maintenance problems. In addition, the role will drive continuous improvement to enhance financial performance, process efficiencies, and reporting accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:

Product Vision & Strategy:

  • Define and communicate the finance product vision, roadmap, and release plans aligned with business goals.

ERP System Ownership:

  • Own, prioritize, and manage the D365 Finance product backlog with a focus on finance-driven enhancements. Stay current with Microsoft D365 Finance updates and recommend features that enhance financial operations.

Requirements Definition:

  • Collaborate with Caterpillar, Caterpillar Dealers, and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements, translating them into actionable specifications
  • Partner with Microsoft and our Systems Implementation Partner to translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria tailored for our industry.
  • Act as the voice of the Dealer throughout the development process, ensuring the requirements from our stakeholders and end-users are incorporated in the ERP product
  • Ensure all aspects of Dealers financial operations are covered by the capabilities within the Cat Dealer ERP product.
  • Coordinate with other Product Managers for cross-functional requirements and roadmap planning to deliver Dealer Business Processes.

Delivery and Execution:

  • Oversee the ERP implementation to ensure it meets specifications and Caterpillar quality, security and usability standards.
  • Participates in acceptance testing and training of the ERP with business stakeholders throughout product lifecycle. Certify the ERP product (and capabilities) meets acceptance criteria, while prioritizing / remediating any issues through release cycles.
  • Demonstrate and create demo videos of the CAT ERP template functionality.

Release Management:

  • Coordinate and validate business requirements to support timely and high-quality software releases.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communication to ensure business value delivery.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to manage release dependencies, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment throughout the development cycle.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Cat Digital leads, external vendors and Caterpillar Dealers

Change Management:

  • Work in conjunction with the Dealer Advisory Board to identify opportunities to improve Dealer processes, drive operational consistency through the ERP template and identify change management requirements for the Dealers

User Training:

  • Collaborate with Training departments to deliver user training programs, provide ongoing support and address user issues / enhancement requests
