Assisting the Supervisor in directing day to day operations in their assigned work areas; overseeing the efficient execution of their function/department; assisting in process management; assisting in assuring Total Quality Management; assisting in the training and development of the hourly employees within their assigned team; ensuring accuracy in required departmental tracking/reporting; ensuring 100% compliance to Safety Standards; and for providing other general assistance to the Supervisor, as required.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with establishing work priorities in conjunction with the Supervisor, to include but not limited to:  receiving job instructions from the Supervisor, then assigning and training operators in safe and correct work procedures and directing required performance using a posted standard work document. 

  • For Team Lead roles where material handling equipment (MHE) is required, complete the Training required to train new associates for required MHE

  • Ability to preform and train all functions of assigned department

  • Assist all team members in resolving on-the-job technical issues (i.e. scanning)

  • Arrange for necessary tools and supplies; act as primary person responsible for maintaining 5S adherence and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

  • Assist Supervisor to ensure efficient change-overs/start-ups.

  • Ensure employees assigned to them are actively working in their assigned work area(s)

  • Use effective teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills to promote positive group operations and relationships.

  • Assist the Supervisor with communicating all pertinent information concerning employees and their work area.

  • Collaborate with Supervisor for and assist in conducting pre-shift meetings daily.

  • Ensure 100% compliance with Husqvarna’s safety policy and procedures, to include but not limited to: wearing appropriate PPE, safe forklift operation, and all corporate training/safety initiatives (i.e. See It, Say It, Fix It)

  • Provide coaching/feedback to employees (and to others) as it pertains to the overall good of Husqvarna i.e. Safety, Code of Conduct, Core Values, Uniform Policy, Attendance Policy, EDP (Employee Development Process), etc.

  • Assist the Supervisor in developing short and long term strategies for their areas of responsibilities.

  • Communicate with Supervisor and department employees on functional operations daily.

  • Communicate with Business Owner, Superintendent and/or GM on an as needed basis.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of high school education/GED, plus at least two years of experience in a in a fast-paced distribution environment is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to direct the work and train department operators.

  • 100% compliance with Husqvarna’s governing policies and procedures.

  • Set the example, be a Role Model for others to follow.

  • Must be able to multi-task, exhibit strong leadership skills and be forklift certified.

  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and oral/written communications skills are required - both in group and one-on-one settings.

  • Acceptable attendance record.

  • A demonstrated willingness for continual learning and skill development.

  • Minimal personal computer skills including, but not limited to: MS Office Software applications.

  • Ability to work overtime, off shifts and weekends as needed.

The anticipated hourly wage range for candidates who will work in Troy, NY is $22.10 - $26.85
