The In Vivo Scientist will play a crucial role in advancing our research by designing and executing in vivo experiments focused on evaluating novel drug delivery technologies for pediatric cancer. This position requires a highly motivated and skilled individual with experience in working with murine models of cancer and a strong understanding of in vivo experimental procedures. The scientist will collaborate closely with other members of the Straehla Lab to contribute to impactful research aimed at improving treatment strategies for childhood cancers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and execute in vivo experiments using murine models of pediatric cancer.
- Perform various drug administration techniques (e.g., intravenous, intracranial, subcutaneous).
- Conduct tumor measurements and monitor animal health and well-being according to IACUC protocols.
- Perform tissue collection, processing, and preservation for downstream analysis (e.g., histology, molecular analysis).
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, data, and results.
- Analyze and interpret in vivo data, contributing to the preparation of reports and publications.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the Straehla Lab, including postdoctoral fellows, research technicians, and graduate students.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new in vivo experimental protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant animal handling and safety regulations.
- Participate in lab meetings and present experimental findings.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; may require a Master’s Degree for certain lab specialties. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related area/laboratory setting.

Preferred
Master’s Degree in applicable field/research specialty highly preferred. Significant experience conducting research in area of specialization. Some experience with laboratory management.
Compensation Range
$31.28 - $46.93 per hourSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
