About the role
JOB SUMMARY:
- Manage Environmental programs and regulating authorities’ relationships
- Manage ECT Inspections and resources
- Develop a safety plan, training, and hazard assessment/correction enterprise wide and lead consistent implementation
- Member of ESG Committee
- Implement ISO 14001 or similar program to properly manage and document environmental programs
- Manage Safety / Environmental metrics, KPIs and scorecards
- Conducts Safety and Environmental Audits
- Define and implement Enterprise-wide Health Program (i.e., hearing analysis / protection) and associated PPE requirements (Bump Caps, uniforms, etc.
Skills, Traits, & Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety compliance law and industrial hygiene
- Ability to identify hazards, critical process, and system needs and implement appropriate action plans
- Adept at developing and delivering safety training
- Ability to motivate and inspire others at all levels of the organization
- Ability to initiate and lead cross-functional teams and management / union committees to achieve objectives
- Agent of change – create momentum for new initiatives while understanding the many different perspectives in the plant; effectively gain support across the organization as needed
- Ability to establish agreement and consensus with management
- Ability to prove result-oriented leadership and entrepreneurship
- Intellectually strong, able to combine analytical reasoning and creativity and good judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead efforts across all facilities to engage hourly employees in the safety process. Provide guidance to sites to elevate employee ownership, increase the effectiveness of safety committees, and create avenues of communication and feedback.
- Serve as a coach and expert resource to the plant leaders, Site EHS leaders on safety, environmental, communications and other programs related to EH&S.
- Provide technical and professional guidance on growth and development plans for each EHS team member in assigned sites.
- Coach and mentor early-career EHS professionals and development participants.
- Actively participate in the performance reviews of site EHS leaders in assigned locations
- Collaborate with Site leaders and HR to accelerate performance of site EHS leaders and team members to contribute to the overal strategy and specific critical outcomes for the business.
- Drive EHS team to achieve 100% Training compliance across all sites
- Lead and maintain data program for energy, water, wastewater, trash and recycling inputs and outputs for all sites
- Leadership role in FFP’s ESG team with input to developing policy for water and wastewater usage, GHG reductions and implementation of the ESG initiatives related to Environmental issues.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Implementation of ISO-14000 series programs and certifications
- Professional certification preferred (CSP, CIH, etc.)
- Experience implementing or managing a strong safety and environmental culture, in a matrix & multi-site environment
- Demonstrated success in coaching and leading teams
- Managing and delivering results through projects and initiatives
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (occupational safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, science or equivalent preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing, manufacturing safety experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel up to 40%
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 Lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and platforms
