DESCRIPTION:

This is a promotional position for an Adult Protective Investigator (API) or Human Services Counselor (HSC III). This professional position provides case management to vulnerable adult who meet eligibility requirements and Protective Supervision as outlined in policy, along with conducting confidential investigation of alleged abuse, neglect, vulnerable adult in need or services, and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults.

In addition, this position is responsible for coaching, motivating and modeling best practices to provide real time field casework guidance and assessment for both new and existing HSCs and APIs. Incumbent may partcipate in Pre-Service and In-service training, observe and evaluate API and HSC III casework activities, assessment of service needs and referrals to services and provide feedback to the Adult Protective Investigator (API), Human Services Conselor (III), Adult Protective Inveisgation Supervisor (APIS) and Human Services Counselor Supervisor, and Assess and coach APIs and HSCs in interviewing, assessement and documentation skills as needed.       

The position will be in Circuit 10 (covering Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties).

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• One year of experience as an API/Senior API or HSC III at the Florida Department of Children and Families Adult Protective Services.
• Working knowledge of Chapter 415 and CFOP 140-2.
• Experience using investigative and/or services techniques and practices.
• Ability to actively listen, communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. (Use in the KSA’s)
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in written form. (Use in the KSA’s)
