Water Resources Engineer (Hydraulics / Roadway Drainage)

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Hydraulic / Roadway Drainage Engineer, with 5+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of design professionals in our Raleigh, NC office.  The right candidate would lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for NCDOT and North Carolina localities.  Typical design tasks include stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and other water resource engineering tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a water resources engineer. Responsibilities

• Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels and bridge hydraulics.
• Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting.
• Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.
• Work in collaboration with a Transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures.

Required Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 5 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production.
• Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software.
• North Carolina-licensed Professional Engineer required.
• NCDOT experience highly preferred.
• CADD experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads, GeoPAK required.
• Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal.
