Senior Process Improvement Associate - Clinical Quality Improvement

About the role

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Process Improvement Associate who works well in fast-paced, clinical settings. In this position, you will be a key part of a Learning Health System Accelerator to achieve high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective health care. This position works directly with organizational leaders and interprofessional teams to develop and execute project plans for quality improvement projects. 

 

This position is eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement within the Greater Houston, TX area.

Job Duties

  • Identifies opportunities for implementing innovative and novel approaches to clinical and operational gaps in care delivery by utilizing evidence-based guidelines. 
  • Facilitates quality improvement projects with A3 support, improvement science education, root cause analysis, Model for Improvement, and Six Sigma principles. 
  • Participates in and coordinates committees/task forces/project meetings. Prepares agendas, reports, and minutes of performance improvement task force meetings/projects without errors. Acts as a facilitator and/or team leader for projects. 
  • Creates reports to track performance metrics and clinical outcomes, metrics can include, but not limited to mortality, length of stay, readmissions, hospital-acquired conditions, resource utilization, complications, and patient safety indicators. 
  • Effectively communicates key messages to diverse audiences and is comfortable presenting to large, detail-oriented groups. 
  • Understands high-value care, principles and practice of value-based decision-making, health care payment/reimbursement, and delivery models, including familiarity with barriers to high-value care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree.
  • 4+ years healthcare related experience and at least 1 year of recent quality improvement experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical environments necessary to assess and identify gaps or deficiencies in healthcare services.
  • Knowledge of complex hospital and healthcare systems, processes and quality/performance improvement. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, good clinical inquiry and investigational aptitude.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Effective change agent.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/measurement.
  • Strong public speaking skills and demonstrated ability in presenting to a variety of co-workers, including physicians, clinicians, administration, and support staff.
  • Self-directed and able to perform independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
