WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION

The Technical Systems Analyst supports the SEC Filings Archive Project by maintaining and improving automated systems used to collect, validate, and preserve publicly available SEC filings. This role focuses on monitoring Python-based data pipelines, troubleshooting technical issues, documenting workflows, ensuring data quality, and supporting research initiatives through data enrichment and process optimization. The position also contributes to training materials and workflow standardization to promote long-term project sustainability. This is a temporary position expected to last only a few months in order to complete the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, test, debug, and optimize Python automation scripts and data processing workflows.

  • Monitor data collection performance, validate data quality, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Update systems in response to changes in SEC website structure, access policies, and technical requirements.

  • Document technical workflows, procedures, and best practices to support project continuity.

  • Develop training materials and assist with knowledge transfer for student employees and future staff.

  • Conduct exploratory data enrichment and transformation to enhance the research value of archived datasets.

  • Collaborate with project leadership to report progress, resolve technical issues, and support ongoing research objectives.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?

Required:

•       Bachelor's degree OR 1 year of related experience


Preferred:  

•       Bachelor's degree AND 2 or more years of related experience

Pay Level: 46

Typical Starting Pay Range: $16+ per hour
