There are currently 2 openings for Administrative Assistant II (C) located at our headquarters, Los Angeles.

As an Administrative Assistant II, you will provide high-level administrative and organizational support to the Board Office while serving as a committee coordinator. In this role, you will assist with ensuring Board and committee meetings run smoothly by coordinating meeting logistics, preparing scripts and minutes, supporting Brown Act compliance, and facilitating communication among stakeholders. You will also perform a variety of administrative support functions that contribute to the efficient operation of the department.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with providing high-level administrative support to the Board Office, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with Coordinate and support Board and committee meetings by managing meeting logistics, room setup and breakdown, and preparing   scripts, minutes, and meeting materials.
  • Assist with ensuring Board and committee meetings are conducted in compliance with Brown Act requirements by supporting meeting documentation, public noticing, and related administrative processes.
  • Assist with preparing accurate, timely, and comprehensive meeting minutes by documenting Board and committee proceedings and maintaining records.
  • Assist with data entry functions by entering, updating, correcting, and maintaining records while verifying data for accuracy and completeness.
  • May assist in a variety of operational, special projects, and assignments as requested.

Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 7 am. 

Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

 

 

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: A High school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency and five years of relevant experience;

 

OR Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years of relevant experience;

 

OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and one year of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Administrative Assistant I classification.

 

Relevant Experience is defined as experience: Administrative experience assisting with public board, council, commission, or committee meetings, including coordinating logistics and preparing meeting materials.

 

Desirable Qualifications: Microsoft Office Suite.

 

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

 

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver License or equivalent that allows you to drive in the course of your employment (Required at time of application.)
