Description

The Engineering & Mathematics Division of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) invites applications for a Lecturer Part-Time Temporary to teach Electrical Engineering courses. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy, have expertise in working with diverse student populations, and are open to collaborating with colleagues.  

Compensation is $7,080 per course equivalent over a three-month quarter. The base salary range for this position is $7,080 per month, prorated based on amount of full-time effort (FTE) determined by number of credits taught, and commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Appointments are renewable on a quarterly basis, and are contingent upon instructional needs, part time faculty reappointment guidelines, and Division approval. Positions in this title are not promotion eligible. 

Appointment service dates align with the annual academic calendar. Winter 2025: December 16-March 15; and Spring 2025: March 16-June 15. The cumulative instructional need currently for the 2024-25 Academic Year is as follows:

The Electrical Engineering (EE) program is part of the Division of Engineering & Mathematics, which is housed in the School of STEM. In addition to Electrical Engineering, the division has programs in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mathematics. The program offers a BS in Electrical Engineering, a BS in Computer Engineering (jointly run with the division of Computing and Software Systems (CSS), an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Graduate Certificate in Electrical and Computer Engineering Foundation.  

  

The Electrical Engineering program is comprised of full-time and part-time faculty with vast academic and industrial experience. The EE faculty have expertise in a broad range of areas, including power systems, signal processing, communication systems, power electronics, embedded systems, biomedical devices, design of organic cells, etc. The program has well-equipped labs and facilities, including a clean room, to conduct teaching and research.
