Requisition Summary

The number of development programs and pilot requirements increase yearly and require additional support.  The New Product Coordination team will be responsible for coordinating the required pilot activities to support pilot activities in the plant.  The New Product Coordinator will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, and Operations, based on the approved RACI, to ensure that pilot builds are successful and communicate build status updates to stakeholders at various levels of the PACCAR organization.

 

The hiring level of this person will be dependent upon related experience, skills, knowledge, and education.  This position will require a self-motivated person who can operate with minimal supervision, has a strong technical background, can work across multiple engineering departments, and can drive results from all stakeholders.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Actively participate in software, programming and electrical system trouble shooting.
• Coordinate with Embedded, Electrical, and the DAVIE engineering teams to contain and implement solutions.
• Provide feedback to design groups on issues seen during pilot builds.  
• Remain familiar with all truck software deployed in production (MX, Cummins, DAVIE, VEPS, Eaton, Allison, ESA, Bendix, Wabco, VECU, CALID/CVN, ELF, Parameters, GHG, EASOP…)
• Communicate with plant and engineering management
• Develop processes and predictive metrics to program/project readiness prior to production implementation.
• Track & report critical metrics (readiness, defects, documentation, communication…)
• Coordinate with Process Engineers to verify process documents are complete.
• Support the Manufacturing Engineering Review (MER) and Build Readiness Reviews.
• Provide feedback from the build for the Program Go / No Go.
• Coordinate the documentation of build issues with PLRs, HPQC, and EWI defects.
• Participate in the FRACAS review boards by providing feedback or validation of proposed solutions.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Five years engineering experience, preferable 1-3 years’ experience in the manufacturing, industrial engineering, or electrical engineering field or software/electrical trouble shooting.
• Demonstrated professional and successful communication skills with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of PCMS and Bill of Materials is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge and experience with order processing systems preferred.

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• Having a background with the following systems/software is a plus:
  • Truck Programming (DAVIE, VEPS, ESA, ,VMUX, VSP)
  • Truck Diagnostics (DAVIE, Insite, ESA, Acom, Service Ranger, Allison, Wabco)
  • Project Management
