The Credit Analyst IV serves as the senior credit resource within the credit analysis team, responsible for underwriting the most complex commercial loan requests, guiding strategic credit decisions, and ensuring adherence to bank policies and regulatory standards.  This role involves providing mentorship, quality control, and driving process improvement initiatives to ensure consistency across the credit team.  Analysts at this level collaborate closely with senior credit leadership and Relationship Managers to structure sophisticated transactions and manage loan portfolio risk at a strategic level.

Oversee and provide final review of due diligence for highly complex and structured credits; acting as escalation point for critical issues.
Underwrite and provide recommendations for complex commercial loan requests, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate and structure loan proposals at the highest level of complexity, delivering strategic recommendations to Relationship Managers and Credit Officers.
Lead complex collateral evaluations for high-value or specialized assets, ensuring appraisal methodologies align with policy, interpreting valuation results for credit decisions, and assessing environmental risk implications.
Ensure adherence to loan policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to all credit decisions by acting as subject matter expert on policy interpretation.
Assist the team manager in workflow oversight, pipeline management, and work assignment as needed.
Understand and apply bank policies and procedures, ensuring all underwriting and credit decisions comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with minimal to no oversight; demonstrate ability to reprioritize quickly and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Participate in client meetings and support business development through strategic credit insight.
Mentor and coach credit analysts at all levels, providing feedback, training, and development plans to build team capability.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen risk management across the credit team.
Advise senior credit managers on portfolio risk trends and contribute to credit policy development.
Support Encore Bank’s overall credit and risk culture through leadership and collaboration.
Perform other duties as assigned.


 

Type and Scope of Supervisory Responsibilities:

QualificationsSkills and Qualifications: 


Bachelor’s degree required in finance or an appropriate combination of education and experience
Advanced credentials (CFA, CPA) preferred
Minimum 7 years of credit analysis experience, with at least 5 years in banking or financial services
Extensive experience in commercial lending, C&I, and CRE transactions
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
Independent, resourceful, and goal-oriented
Highly analytical, detail-oriented with problem-solving capability
Ability to lead and mentor junior analysts
High level of accountability and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks


 

Computer and Office Equipment Skills:


Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


 

Attendance Requirements:


Daily attendance required in the work environment during normal business working hours which are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
In-person and/or hybrid attendance is occasionally required for company and/or team meetings or onsite visits to clients as required


 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

 


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


 

Travel:


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected
