Boeing Aerospace Operations is currently looking for an Industrial Engineer (Mfg Industrial Engineer 3 or 4) to join their Production Engineering Team in San Antonio, TX.  The Industrial Engineer (Mfg Industrial Engineer) will support the Production Engineering Team for the Service Life Modification (SLM) Program based in San Antonio, TX.

In this role you will assist in the development of shop floor operating schedules, capacity planning, and development of spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., Performance Metrics, Schedule Performance, etc.).  Providing summary analysis and metrics to internal customers at various levels.

You will use your skills to research, design, develop, improve and implement processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.  You will also use engineering methods to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment) across the Program.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the San Antonio, TX location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.

  • Develops plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.

  • Evaluates new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.

  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.

  • Conducts work flow design and analysis.

  • Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers.

  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.

  • Creates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.

  • Prepares operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.

  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.

  • Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.

  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or Methods Process Analyst

  • 3+ years of experience with extracting and compiling data from multiple sources

  • 3+ years of experience with implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies

  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with organizational and team building skills performed in a cross-functional environment

  • Experience with modeled and analyzed
