PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Hiring salary for this position is $81,850.85 - $102,313.56 annually.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Senior Compensation and Classification Analyst plans, designs, implements, and continuously supports the City’s compensation and classification programs. The senior analyst is responsible for collaborating with the Compensation division, HR department, as well as organizational leadership and employees to provide insights, guidance, and recommendations on compensation and classification related matters. The senior analyst will also support evaluation, analysis, and continuous improvement of guidelines, policies, practices, and procedures.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as an advisor to HR colleagues, organizational leaders, as well as individual team members on compensation and classification programs, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Recommends solutions to leaders and advises on opportunities and risks associated with each solution. Facilitates conversations with appropriate team members as needed.
Designs, implements, and supports compensation and classification programs and procedures. Provides guidance and insights as well as city-wide communication, training and education.
Leads the City’s annual market review process, providing analysis and recommendations to pay range changes, as well as facilitating city-wide market pay increase recommendations. Responds to and conducts external surveys as needed.
Leads the City’s annual Merit Pay Allocation (MPA) process including: communications, HRIS configuration, customer service to leadership, and auditing submissions. Processes merit pay increases, lump sum payments, and merit bonuses in collaboration with HR and Payroll teams.
Collaborates with HRIS, IT, and other teams as needed to advance and maintain compensation functionality of the City’s HRIS including: workflows, reports and dashboards, audits and corrections, and total rewards functionality.
Partners with organizational leaders and colleagues to complete individual compensation and classification requests including: new hire and promotion pay recommendation reviews, job descriptions, job evaluations, reclassifications, advancement programs, as well as market and equity analyses. Support of requests includes providing analysis, recommendation(s), and serving as a point of contact from initiation of the request through and after processing of changes.
Assists with the review of city-wide pay practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
May assist team members with various requests or processes, providing feedback, guidance or training as needed.
Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
