Purpose:
Reporting to the U.S. Head of Risk Governance and Policy, the Analyst will provide support overseeing Scotiabank U.S. (SBUS) Policy Management program. The Analyst will assist with the administration of the U.S. policy management tool, support reporting, quality assurance, and the management of U.S. Policy Documents.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the administration of the U.S. policy management tool as needed including:
- Develop and perform any user acceptance testing pertaining to system upgrades or enhancements implemented by the vendor.
- Identify, consolidate, and document policy management issues, exceptions, and escalations.
- Assist with policy management reporting (Power BI) on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Review policy management data, build reports based on these finds, and recommend programs to improve policy management performance metrics.
- Assist in the oversight of projects related to the policy management tool and policy management as both a project manager and a subject matter expert.
- Assist in the administration of the key documents (e.g., SBUS Enterprise Risk Management Framework, SBUS Risk Appetite Framework, SBUS Risk Appetite Metric, SBUS Policy of Policies, committee charters) and their supporting documents.
- Assist team with additional policy management duties as needed, including:
- Provide support and training to Policy Document Owners and others in the management of their Policy Document population.
- Reviewing Policy Documents for consistency.
- Applying the principles of good governance to the identification, assessment, management, and communication of policy management principles across all operations in the U.S.
- Conduct risk governance research and analysis on priority issues.
- Champion a client-centric focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions. Relationship management and cross-collaboration include:
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with policy coordinators and departments.
- Coordinating meetings, training, and document reviews.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent job experience.
- Ability to create or revise technical/support documentation with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts providing input.
- Project management experience.
