Depot/Yard Assistant

We’re looking for a Depot/Yard Assistant based in Doncaster. The Depot Assistant will report to the Depot Team Leader and support the day-to-day operation of the depot, keeping the depot safe and tidy as well as low-level maintenance of fleet.

What you’ll do:
- Unloading and loading of vehicles and fleet
- General duties involved in hire activities and site working when required, including the use of FLTs and company vehicles
- Cleaning of equipment prior to hire
- Ancillary Equipment Preparation (including cables, distribution panels, and TC equipment)
- Basic servicing activities under the supervision of qualified personnel
- Inventory responsibilities, including the repair of all MC fleet
- Completion of all necessary service reports on equipment
- Maintain the yard and workshop in a neat and tidy state
- Ensure all yard/workshop equipment is in safe/good working order
- Carry out any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar role within a depot, warehouse, or operational environment
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment
- Experience with FLTs and other handling equipment (desirable but not essential)
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in servicing equipment (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete reports accurately
- Ability to work effectively within a team
