The Network Technology support role manages and is responsible for the lifecycle delivery of network solutions (new & existing) which is includes the plan/design consultation with AT&T Technical Planning & Engineering teams, implementation activity (network deployment), network configuration, and troubleshooting (as needed) of complex redundant and secure multi-layer networks across several business service lines such as AT&T’s Conexus enterprise network infrastructure, Premise Access locations, Retail Core deployments, & AT&T WIFI (Corporate & Retail Business).

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • This position requires a very strong technical engineering professional specializing in routing, switching, WAP’s, Controllers, project management, and network design/consultation.  This role involves complex network solutions provisioning/configurations, engaging and working with AT&T partners in various areas of the business services lines which can include vendors and developers.   

  • This role primarily supports network solution(s) build activities, however, may straddle areas of network planning and design as a network consultant on several AT&T service lines listed above.

  • Ongoing support includes network problem analysis and the deployment of software maintenance as necessary to address network outages, redundancy, reliability, performance, and resiliency. 

Job Contribution:

A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in multiple disciplines of networking technology is ideal and recommended.  This position requires a broad skill set across lifecycle management, network engineering, network design, network consultation, and project management.


*WIFI (WAP, Controllers, & Prime (or CatCenter), Network Automation, Scripting and network orchestration experience and knowledge is in highly regarded and required for this role.


 

The following skills and experience are required for this position:


•    Advanced level knowledge of Cisco Routers & Switches
•    Experience and knowledge in troubleshooting layer 2 and 3 routing and switching issues.  
•    Technical leadership and experience during high visibility outages and maintenance activity.
•    Technical consultative skills and the ability to lead and manage projects.
•    Technical Support for critical situations
•    Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, written communications and customer service skills.
•    Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Model, CIDR, LAN/WAN protocols.
•    Experience with configuring and troubleshooting OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, Hot-standby and BGP  
•    Familiarity w/ firewall/VPN theory and configuration/troubleshooting
•    Solid understanding of network routing concepts and practical experience configuring & following protocols on Cisco routers.  
•    Experience in the design and review/validation of network design (traffic flows, including gathering and planning for security requirements, component interoperability)
•    Demonstrate focus and commitment to timely delivery of services.
•    Dedicated customer (internal/external) focus and can deal with escalations and multiple installation projects/priorities simultaneously.

The ideal candidate would have most of the following:
•    CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
•    Extensive experience with network configuration activity in a large production network environment
•    Expert level Change Management execu
