Northrop Grumman Classified Solution is seeking a Senior RF Engineer 6 to join our dynamic team of technical professionals in the Northridge, California facility.  NOTE: There is no remote work. This is an on-site position.

Basic Qualifications for a Senior RF Engineer level (T06): 

• Bachelors of Science with 14+ years of experience in RF and antenna product design and development; Masters with 12 years; or PhD with 10 years.

• Experience with developing, coordinating and conducting RF and Antenna designs and evaluations of engineering designs, inclusive of innovations and implementations of new design concepts.

• Experience with development specifications and requirements, Engineering Change Proposals review, including formal whitepapers and failure reports.

• Extensive knowledge of RF testing and measurement using RF instruments and anechoic chambers.

• Experience with Design creation and simulation models using computer modeling tools

• Ability to support proposal efforts and new technology development and maturation.

• Able to lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers to develop flight hardware.

• Able to lead design reviews and test activities, as needed. Support subcontractor evaluation, selection and coordination activities with respect to RF needs. 

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships

• Current US Government DoD Secret security clearance or within the last 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications for a Senior RF Engineer level (T06): 

• Proven hands-on design experience of multi octave bandwidth antennas for Supersonic Aircraft / Missile platforms.

• Experience in detection, beamforming and angle-of-arrival estimation. 

• Direct Digital conversion experience / signal processing hardware experience / Data link experience is a plus.

• Strong RF background with a good mechanical understanding for flight hardware.

• Experience desired in manufacturing support, characterization, test, installation and operation of antennas on missiles or aircraft and experience in general military RF systems.

• Ability to measure using RF Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and signal generators and interpret RF Test data and radiation patterns.

• Experience with Ansys HFSS software or equivalent modeling tools preferred.

• Experience with High Temperature Materials.

• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings/schematics.

• Ability to communicate findings to customers and management.

• Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with little direction.

• Innovative thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and “out of the box” ideas.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
