As a Systems Administrator with the Town, you’ll play a key role in keeping our technology running smoothly and securely across all departments. This position provides advanced technical support for a wide range of systems—including computing hardware, networks, voice and data communications, imaging, and radio systems (excluding 911). Working under general supervision, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience needed to take ownership of critical responsibilities, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver reliable IT services that support our employees and the community we serve.

Salary
- Hiring Range: $76,456 – 109,037/year
- Anticipated Hiring Range: $76,456 - $91,747/year
ANTICIPATED WORK SCHEDULE:
- Full-time (Monday-Friday shifts) 40 hours per week with some nights and weekends as needed.
- This position is eligible to work remotely one to two days per week dependent upon successful completion of the probationary period and supervisor approval. Schedule may vary depending on specific needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Administrator
- Safeguards security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Serves as systems administrator for all computing and telecommunications systems.
- Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and configurations.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of Active Directory Windows 2012/2016, including the maintenance of accounts, security groups, group policies, server-based shared directories, and permissions.
- Maintains VMware infrastructure, including physical hosts, SAN, and operating systems.
- Maintains and supports LAN/WAN network devices.
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
- Administration of Office 365 environment, including using PowerShell to make backend changes to the environment.
- Mentors and coaches and provides lead tech support to Desktop Technician
