As a Global Category Manager/Strategic Procurement Manager within the Indirect Procurement & Capex team, you will take the lead in building, planning and executing category strategies and plans across multiple indirect spend areas. Your role is vital in delivering cost savings, creating supplier value, enhancing efficiencies, sustainability and compliance etc. across the organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and procurement colleagues across our global network - including Germany, US, Mexico, China, and Malaysia - to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of best practices.
This position reports directly to the Head of Global Indirect Procurement & Capex.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering (stakeholder management): Engage with internal key stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement- & category strategies with business objectives vs supplier market.
- Category Strategy Development: Set the Direction, Priority and Speed and build global category strategies that delivers sustainable value, cost savings, and operational excellence.
- Translate (Implement, Execution & Delivery): strategies into actionable initiatives and lead their successful implementation and execution.
- Market Intelligence & Risk Management: Monitor and anticipate supply risks, track market trends etc., and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
- Supplier Management: Build and manage strong supplier relationship management to ensure high performance and mutual value creation with the right suppliers.
- Contracting & Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations and ensure effective contract execution.
- Data-Driven Procurement: Analyze category spend, supply markets, and cost drivers in collaboration with our new Procurement Insights team to uncover efficiencies and opportunities.
- Sustainability: Integrate responsible sourcing practices into category plans. Ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and driving environmental and social impact across the supply base
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo and actively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
What You Bring
While great skills and experience can come from many paths, we believe you’re likely to thrive in this role if you have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or similar field.
- Relevant experience of +7 years managing global indirect Procurement, Categories Management and Sourcing.
- Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to collaborate across functions and regions in a matrix environment while building strong internal and external partnerships.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Proven and strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and contract execution etc.
- Deep experience in running RFI/RFQ/RFP, e-auctions process etc.
