Certified Pharmacy Technician

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician I Certified Retail/Specialty works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and assists with the activities and processes required to dispense prescriptions and provide quality, safe patient care. Working under close supervision, this role supports the registered pharmacist in medication preparation by labeling and organizing prescriptions.

Responsibilities

Accepts new prescriptions and refill requests from patients, evaluates for accuracy.Triages telephone calls, answering patient questions when appropriate.Sells prescriptions to patients. Assists lead technician with inventory maintenance.Delivers quality customer service to every patient. Accepts and processes prescription transfers.Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:Required: 1 yearLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire and registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire
