The Opportunity:

Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs. 

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to help support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll deploy enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.  

You’ll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing as you join our team of problem-solvers.

Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Cryptographic equipment, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, and virtual routing and forwarding, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting Cisco networking, including switches, routers, and VLANS, Cryptography, including KG175, Static routing or OSPF, and Telephony, including Cisco phone and call manager
• Experience with customer service
• Ability to collaborate with customers and government officials to plan and deploy network expansions and new Geographically Separated Units (GSUs) to meet developing mission requirement
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• Security+ or CCNA certification

Nice If You Have: 

• 7+ years of experience in a professional work environment
• Experience in reimaging computers, including installing and configuring operating systems.
• Experience with the latest trends in network technology and best practices
• Ability to communicate complex technical requirements to leadership and external customers verbally and in writing, and provide project status, reports, and network recommendations
• Bachelor's degree
• CCNP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
