About the role

Description: The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector conducts mechanical inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards, reviewing and documenting quality procedures, identifying and addressing non-conformities, analyzing data to detect potential issues, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process, all while focusing on safety and regulatory compliance. Schedule: 4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF

6 days per week, 10 hours per day
60 hour per week, opportunity for more

Licensing Information and Requirements:

Must hold a valid AWS “CWI” Certified Welding Inspector License

Essential Job Functions:

On-site inspection of structural and mechanical welding practices
Maintaining detailed inspection reports, recording data, and documenting any non-conformances found during inspection.
Investigate and address non-conformities, discrepancies, or deficiencies promptly.
Identifying and reporting defects or deviations from specifications, initiating corrective actions, and following up to ensure issues are being resolved.
Inspect the production quality to establish requirements are being met.
Verify work is in place according to drawing and specifications.
Record and document all deviations from original scope.
Notify management of all discrepancies found.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma, or Equivalent
Two (2) years’ heavy mechanical industrial experience required.
Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
Proven fluency with computers, including ability to learn new software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Strong understanding of mechanical principles, welding procedures, and engineering practices
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Expertise in using various measuring tools and testing equipment.
Knowledge of quality control methodologies and documentation practices
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
Effective communication skills to effectively report quality issues.
Ability to set and balance priorities to complete projects on time.
Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in demanding situations.
