About the role

Description: The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector conducts mechanical inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards, reviewing and documenting quality procedures, identifying and addressing non-conformities, analyzing data to detect potential issues, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process, all while focusing on safety and regulatory compliance.       Schedule: 4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF 
  • 6 days per week, 10 hours per day 
  • 60 hour per week, opportunity for more

Licensing Information and Requirements:    
  • Must hold a valid AWS “CWI” Certified Welding Inspector License 
 Essential Job Functions:    
  • On-site inspection of structural and mechanical welding practices  
  • Maintaining detailed inspection reports, recording data, and documenting any non-conformances found during inspection.  
  • Investigate and address non-conformities, discrepancies, or deficiencies promptly.  
  • Identifying and reporting defects or deviations from specifications, initiating corrective actions, and following up to ensure issues are being resolved.  
  • Inspect the production quality to establish requirements are being met.  
  • Verify work is in place according to drawing and specifications.  
  • Record and document all deviations from original scope.  
  • Notify management of all discrepancies found.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Required Minimum Qualifications:    
  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent  
  • Two (2) years’ heavy mechanical industrial experience required.  
  • Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record 
  • Proven fluency with computers, including ability to learn new software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:     
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, welding procedures, and engineering practices 
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings 
  • Expertise in using various measuring tools and testing equipment. 
  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies and documentation practices 
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects. 
  • Effective communication skills to effectively report quality issues. 
  • Ability to set and balance priorities to complete projects on time. 
  • Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in demanding situations.
