Maintenance Technician B - (II) Transdev in Lancaster, California is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. - Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for our customers.
- Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including the repair of brakes, HVAC systems, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, electrical systems, drivability and other repairs
- Assist with road calls and emergency service repairs
- Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Other duties as required.
- 5 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferred.
- 21 years or older
- Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
- Good fabrication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- 5+ years of automotive or electric vehicle repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and a drug test.
- Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
- ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided
- Mechanic’s Tool Set
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to perform work in all weather conditions
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, standing.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
