Administrative Coordinator

The Maine Trust for Local News (METLN) Administrative Coordinator will play a vital role in our mission by providing essential support to the senior leadership team, and contributing to the success of our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative activities including internal communications, community relations, event support, and an assortment of unpredictable but essential tasks.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, such as email follow-ups, phone calls, presentation materials, scheduling, digital record keeping, industry resource/award management, licensing requests, etc.
• Internal Communications: Manage METLN employee idea inbox, keep comms calendar and manage monthly METLN employee newsletter
• Community Engagement: Support school tours, funder visits, community outreach, chamber relationships, trade partnerships, represent at community events
• Special Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior leadership ranging from assisting with internal/external events to employee engagement activities.  
• Ready for Anything: Be ready to jump in and assist in various tasks and projects across the organization as needed.   

Qualifications: 

• High energy and enthusiasm for the mission of the Maine Trust for Local News. 
• Related experience in a work environment where time-management, prioritization, attention to detail and multi-tasking were essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to actively listen and communicate effectively. 
• Proactive and able to take initiative to solve problems and anticipate needs. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suites, experience with Zoom and Slack.  

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. 
• A passion for Maine.
