Description

Do you have experience working in a social service setting with people who are low-income and/or homeless? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals and families facing homelessness in Clark County? If so, the Council for the Homeless (CFTH) is seeking a compassionate and proactive Care and Engagement Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in transforming lives.


CFTH operates the Housing Solutions Center, our community’s one-stop access point for over 40 housing assistance programs, including emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, and programs designed for specific populations such as families or unaccompanied youth. The Care and Engagement Coordinator provides services to people seeking shelter via motel vouchers and continued engagement to assist with the creation and attainment of goals. This role involves direct interaction with people experiencing literal homelessness, coordinating care services,  and fostering strong relationships within the community to support the organization’s mission. 


Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:

  • Maintain a client centered, positive, and proactive approach while assisting participants by advocating to remove challenges and barriers that would lead to ongoing homelessness. 
  • Assess participant needs, develop individualized care plans, coordinate and monitor referred services to ensure participant receives appropriate support. 
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to address additional challenges and/or concerns. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and maintain relationships with partner’s agencies, stakeholders and community leaders; including assisting with or coordinate community and partner events.  
  • Assist with the development of and effective person-centered and equity driven program administration while aligning with agency agreements, equity statement, and policies and procedures. 
  • All work is lead with an understanding and practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Pay and Benefits

  • The starting salary for this position is $26.24 per hour. In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities act, the full salary range for this position is $26.24 - $31.49 per hour.
  • Bi-lingual pay differential.
  • Full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. May be required to work a few hours on weekends and holidays when needed.
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance for the employee only.
  • Benefits package also includes 9.03% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company paid holidays, and generous paid time off and separate sick time accrual.

Requirements

  • Lived experience as someone who is low-income or homeless.
  • 1 or more years of experience or employment with rental properties.  
  • At least two years’ experience working in a social service setting with people who are low-income and/or homeless or equivalent.  
  • Experience developing and strengthening partnerships.  
  • Valid driver’s license and/or access to automobiles required.  
  • Strong customer service, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong cultural awareness and humility. 
  • Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong computer skills. 
  • Ability to accept feedback as an opportunity to improve and excel. 
  • Experience with de-escalation and crisis intervention. 
  • Ability to remain empathetic, kind, and nonjudgmental regardless of the situation. 
  • Be a positive, self-motivated individual who has demonstrated the ability to work independently and well with others as a member of various teams. 
  • Willing to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities and roles without losing enthusiasm for the organization mission.  
  • Willingness to commit to advancing an Anti-Racist framework within the agency and community. 
  • Will agree to attend ongoing professional development opportunities focusing on social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. 
  • Positive, self-motivated individual who has demonstrated ability to work independently and well with others as a member of a team.

  • Lived experience as a person who has experienced homelessness, low-income, etc. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social services or education can be substituted for work e
