Home Study Writer

Thank you for your interest in partnering with CK Family Services to complete professional assessments of families and children.

Specifically, this position is a subcontractor for CK Family Services (not an employee status), working under our contract with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as the Home Study and Report Services. In this contract, you may be called upon to complete Kinship Assessments for prospective relative and/or fictive kinship caregivers, Foster and/or Adoptive Home Studies for prospective foster and/or adoptive families, and Adoption Readiness Reports for children being prepared for adoption.

As a subcontractor, you will have the ability to set your own schedule based on when families are available to meet with you. Timelines for submitting assessments are based upon contractual guidelines established by the state. All completed assessments must be submitted in Microsoft Word, subcontractors will be expected to have this software on their computer before we can assign work. This job requires lots of typing as well as feeling comfortable with writing. The volume of work, per subcontractor, cannot be guaranteed, but we work diligently to spread the opportunities among our subcontractors based upon the location of the family being assessed as well as the type of assessment to be completed. Most importantly, subcontractors that complete their work in a high quality manner with little need for corrections within the established due dates are most frequently called upon to complete assessments referred to CK Family Services.

Compensation: $200 - $300 per assessment.

The ideal candidate has a college degree. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong time management and multi-tasking skills, and good computer skills are required.
