What we are looking for
As a Regional Director of Field Operations, you will oversee several markets within our portfolio, ensuring the success of multiple field operations teams. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven ability to manage teams, maintain operational excellence, and drive efficiency and profitability in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
You will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities, which may not be an exhaustive list:
Leadership and Team Management
- Directly supervise and manage market leaders (Regional Area Managers, Area Managers, and General Managers), including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating performance, and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Lead and performance-manage team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and develop professional growth plans for all direct reports.
- Work closely with team members to ensure high guest and homeowner satisfaction through exceptional communication and mutual accountability.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee maintenance and vendor management across markets, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and adherence to quality standards.
- Establish and enforce housekeeping standards to guarantee guest-ready properties that exceed expectations.
- Own the outcomes of companywide initiatives, driving execution through cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ensure seamless collaboration with centralized teams, including Revenue, Sales, Owner Experience, Customer Experience, and Onboarding.
- Travel regularly to oversee operations in all assigned markets (up to 75% of the time).
Homeowner and Guest Relationship Management
- At times, serve as a main point of contact for cultivating relationships with AvantStay property owners, addressing their needs, and providing clear and consistent updates.
- Act as a bridge between property owners and internal departments, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Lead the resolution of escalated guest and homeowner issues, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes.
- Regularly review owner distribution statements and ensure metrics for homeowner satisfaction are met and exceeded.
Market and Industry Expertise
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the short-term vacation rental industry, including trends, regulatory requirements, and market-specific nuances.
- Use the unique aspects of each market to drive operational efficiency, enhance profitability, and tailor guest and homeowner experiences.
- Monitor competitive landscapes to maintain a strategic edge in each market.
Fiscal Stewardship
- Develop, manage, and monitor operational budgets for assigned markets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability while adhering to financial targets.
- Enforce best practices for financial control, resource allocation, and reporting.
Innovation and Problem-Solving
- Identify opportunities to improve operations, streamline processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Leverage technology to optimize team performance and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years of property management experience, ideally with multi-site locations and exposure to decentralized teams.
- 2+ years of people management experience, including direct supervision of senior leaders.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Expertise in maintenance, vendor management, and housekeeping operations.
- Ability and availability to work weekends, holidays, and maintain a flexible schedule to fit current business needs.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.
- Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
