Position Description
The Breezeline Market & Competitive Intelligence internship is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to collect and curate market and competitive intelligence (MI/CI) for the organization.
Currently, Breezeline lacks a formal and coordinated approach to ensure that key business initiatives are consistently infused with a broad understanding and consideration of key market dynamics. This includes competitor positioning, offers, and strategy, consumer trends, technology developments, resource and supplier issues, legal and regulatory updates, and macroeconomic indicators. The Market & Competitive Intelligence intern will start to develop a new and better approach to delivering foundational MI/CI insight that becomes a recognized and sought-after resource supporting well-informed marketing, product, and operational decisions.
The internship is for a motivated individual looking to join an energetic and highly engaged team and who is eager to make a meaningful contribution that creates lasting value and benefit for the entire Breezeline organization. The opportunity is intended to be a fulfilling and rewarding one for the right person.
Internship candidates should possess excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills along with great attention to detail and a strong desire to collaborate and learn. While deep industry knowledge is not required, the role will require getting up to speed quickly, an ability to distinguish relevant content from 'noise', and an understanding of how to transform market and competitive information into useful, curated insight. Some prior research experience (academic or professional) is a plus.
This is a hybrid role that will work out of our Quincy, MA headquarters two days a week and from home three days a week.
Responsibilities:
Identify and catalog a library of key industry sources/resources
Continuously scan a breadth of relevant sources - articles, reports, databases, websites, etc. - and identify the most relevant material
Absorb, analyze, and transform MI/CI content into digestible and actionable insight
Begin to construct a platform for capturing and sharing critical MI/CI content based on expected utilization and desired (internal) customer experience
Develop an approach to sharing key MI/CI insight with key organizational stakeholders
Become a ‘go-to’ subject matter expert on broadband/cable/mobile competitors and
