Job Duties: Conduct data analysis and prepayment research, develop methodologies, models, and analytics to help portfolio and risk manager to better forecast prepayment, conduct valuation or manage risks at the security and portfolio levels. Contribute to infrastructures platform for production of analytics and delivery of analytic content to portfolio and risk management professionals. Estimate statistical and behavioral models of agency prepayment. Conduct empirical analysis on the Agency mortgage market. Communicate with internal and external clients on model forecasts, performance, strength and weakness, and risk/valuation implications. Collaborate on research and modeling papers for regular client publication and meetings. Present original research at industry conferences and speak with institutional clients about relevant research.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering or related quantitative fields; and 24 months experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following: 1. Evaluating financial markets, credit risk, and interest rate risk relative to macroeconomic factors on securitized product pricing and performance; 2. Programming using Python and R to build statistical models, automate data extraction, processing, and create reports; 3. Implementing statistical methods and tools for data analysis including regression analysis, time series analysis; 4. Utilizing data management and manipulation using SQL, including the ability to extract, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources.
