The Human Resources Department (HRD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is inviting applications to build a competitive pool of ready-to-hire Human Resources Analyst(s) for the HR Operations Division. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for anticipated one-year contractual vacancies. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, subject to satisfactory performance, budget availability, and continued business need. 

Position Summary 

Under the general supervision of the Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief, Section Chief, and/or designated supervisors, the selected candidate(s) will provide operational and administrative support across a broad range of human resources operations functions. Depending on business needs, candidates may be assigned to the HROPS Service Delivery Section, Allowances Administration or Talent Operations. 

 

Responsibilities include administering HR policies and programs in accordance with established procedures and documented precedents; delivering HR services within defined service standards and performance targets; providing high-quality customer service and support to employees and candidates; administering HR transactions and allowance payments; conducting audits and reconciliations; coordinating recruitment activities, and candidate engagement; resolving routine issues and escalating complex matters as needed; maintaining accurate records and data; identifying opportunities for process improvements; contributing to the development of procedures and guidance materials; leveraging HR technologies and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and service delivery; and supporting knowledge transfer through the training of back-up and temporary staff. The successful candidate is expected to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential matters. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities 

Employee Services and Benefits Administration  

  • Process selected HR transactions accurately and within established service standards and timelines. 

  • Provide responsive, empathetic, and high-quality customer support to employees, registered dependents, retirees, and other stakeholders. 

  • Review, triage, and resolve HR inquiries and transactions received through the HR self-service portal, email, phone, chat, or in-person channels. 

  • Maintain customer satisfaction and service delivery performance targets. 

  • Interpret and apply relevant HR policies, General Administrative Orders (GAOs), Staff Handbook provisions, and operational procedures. 

  • Safeguard and maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee records and data to support reliable benefits administration and transaction processing. 

  • Perform financial transactions and coordinate recurring allowances and one-time payments in collaboration with payroll. 

  • Perform audits, reconciliations, and quality control reviews of benefits, allowances, and HR transactions. 

  • Observe policy and process controls to support accurate administration and disbursement of allowances and to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks. 

  • Maintain and update procedures, self-help guides, knowledge articles, and other HR service content made available to employees. 

  • Identify documentation gaps and contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
