What Your Day Will Look Like:
As the Accounting Manager, you'll manage 1-2 staff accountants and be responsible for overseeing the month end close process, included but not limited to booking and reviewing journal entries, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, and preparing monthly reports. You'll be a key point of contact for the financial and FAR audits, and provide guidance on technical accounting topics. The Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Accounting Manager.
This position is open to remote candidates.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepare journal entries for assigned entities, and approve journal entries prepared by staff accountants.
- Support various audit activities (external, internal and FAR).
- Lead and assist in integration efforts for acquired companies.
- Review and provide guidance on technical accounting topics such as purchase price accounting, stock-based compensation and lease accounting.
- Analyze financial reports and records.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Contribute to other department and organization special projects as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
- Merger & Acquisition experience preferred.
- Experience with Vision, Vantagepoint, or other Deltek products preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel with ability to create formula driven spreadsheets, familiarity with pivot table, vlookup, xlookup and other summarizing tools is a plus.
- This office job primarily operates in a professional office and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constantly sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
