Territory: Boston, MA
Travel Percentage – up to 50% overnight travel
Sartorius is seeking a dynamic entrepreneurially spirited Field Service Automation Engineer based remotely in the Boston, MA area. In this role you will be supporting cutting edge equipment; the ambr system, (this is a unique product on the market). You will act as a trusted partner supporting customers with management of installations & commissioning, calibration, and preventative maintenance across a range of systems.

What you will accomplish together with us
- Install & commission, calibration, preventative maintenance, and break fix repairs across a range of systems
- You are responsible for maintaining fault finding data, and feedback of product performance data to customers and internal groups within Sartorius
- You follow all service procedures to ensure that Sartorius’ customer information and product software/configuration is up to date and accurate
- You keep accurate records of time, expenses and work performed
- You can make independent decisions regarding the repair of field equipment based on service level agreements and customers support contract agreements/details
- You have in-depth product knowledge and demonstrate self-improvement
- You are able to escalate system issues that cannot be resolved to the relevant Product Support Engineer, Customer Support Engineer, and the Hardware Resource Coordinator
What will convince us
- You have a completed Associates/Technical Trade, Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field or military equivalent experience.
- You have 1+ years of field service experience servicing electromechanical/ electronic/ optical/ robotics equipment.
- You have 1+ year(s) experience working with voltages up to 480VAC/208VAC 3 phase power
- You have 1+ year(s) experience of configuring PCs and installing software packages such as such as control software smart motors and electrical drive modules
We Value:
- Experience implementing single use bioprocessing equipment into manufacturing processes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written & verbal) are essential to meet the requirements of this role.
- Familiarity with automation platforms (i.e., Allen-Bradley, Emerson, and Siemens) is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Visio.

Additional skills:
- You have strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
- You have good customer relationship and communication skills, both written and oral.
- You have a good understanding of mechanical/electrical drawings
- You have the ability to read, understand and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions
- You have proven problem-solving skills

Preferred experience:
- You have an understanding of both Mammalian and Microbial cell cultures
- You have Knowledge of bioreactors and their use to grow cell culture
- You have Knowledge of ‘clean’ applications, e g GMP/Microelectronics/food processing
- You have Experience working in a test of field service/support environment within high-tech engineering/manufacturing company – ideally on capital equipment
