The Team:
Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Department of Surgical and Perioperative Services; outpatients and theatre suites. The (LGH) provides inpatient and ambulatory services to Launceston and surrounding areas.
The Role:
- Assist’s the Director with the overall responsibility for the management of Surgical Services providing an efficient and effective surgery service within the LGH.
- Assists the Director to ensure that the Department of Surgery aspires to achieve best practice and be seen as a model for regional surgical services through the excellence in governance and judicious application of the principles of evidence-based practice.
- Assists the Director to ensure effective management of all physical, financial and human resources within the surgical services at the LGH.
- Participate and assist the Director in planning for ongoing and future surgical services and delivery at the Launceston General Hospital for Northern Tasmania.
- Assist the Director to manage performance, development, supervision and education portfolios for medical staff within the Department of Surgery.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 16 hours per fortnight, commencing from June 2025 for a three year period.

Salary:
Visiting Medical Practitioners
Visiting Medical Practitioners Level 1- Visiting Medical Specialists Level 4 $254,149 - $445,341 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Tasmanian Visiting Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Agreement 2019
