Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA is seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to fill the role of Production Associate III. The Propulsion Systems business of Collins Aerospace specializes in designing, manufacturing, and testing various energetic devices. Our products include system components that ensure the safe ejection of pilots from fighter jets and helicopters. Our team creates a diverse range of cartridge-actuated devices, propellant-actuated devices, and linear devices that support military and commercial applications with pride. 

Compensation:

  • 25.00 per hour starting rate*
  • Paid vacation & sick time

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:00a.m to 3:30 p.m.
  • Overtime available and/or mandatory on a business need basis

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for quality product standards with no defects.
  • Meet customer deadlines and expectations.
  • Responsible for complying with applicable elements of quality systems.
  • Participate in audits.
  • Acquire applicable skills/knowledge/certifications as required.
  • Perform inspection of parts, coating, labeling/boxing, and general preparation for shipment.
  • Check parts for cracks, loose connections, faulty bonds, and faulty assembly.
  • Record test results in the testing log. Route products for rework or salvage of usable parts.
  • Route reworked assemblies for testing. Clean completed assemblies. Assemble parts according to blueprint specifications.
  • Prepping/ De-prepping parts for paint
  • Test parts by connecting to test equipment setting controls, observing readings and actions of instrument checking for malfunctions.
  • Once properly trained and/or certified- perform specific tasks including, but not limited to, laser welding and laser marking.
  • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area clean and orderly.
  • Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing/Production experience
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint, SAP experience
  • Flexible and motivated with strong relationship building skills -internal and external operations teams.
