About the role

Description

The Proven IT Director of Learning and Development is leader and functional expert in development and coaching of managers and employees. This role leads other learning and development specialists and sales coach. The Director of Learning and Development specializes in business processes, facilitation of content, content development, and coaching. They are disciplined in managing and analyzing department performance to provide just in time training and coaching. They have a proven track record of leadership development, coach other leaders in the organization. They prepare and manage the calendar for development for the year reporting to the VP of HR. As a result of their efforts, the Director of L&D will positively impact Administration, IT, Service, Operations and Sales, with an increase in performance, productivity and results to break performance records. The growth path for the Director of L&D would be a VP of Learning and Development or a VP of Sales. 


Responsibilities

  • Participates in interviewing leadership candidates and sit in on a panel for new employees.
  • Collects, analyzes and draws hypothesis on business data to recommend training and coaching opportunities.
  • Conducts field ride days to gather insights to coach to performance and incorporate into training for relevance.
  • Conducts training for new leaders, annual training session topics, coaching and communication training and participates in the sales leadership development.
  • Utilizes process and content that is Proven IT branded approach. 
  • Develops new content and refreshes current content using data insights using ADDIE. 
  • Prepares the development schedule and sends invitations to participants for each calendar year for development sessions that they own. 
  • Utilizes various methods of facilitation to meet the needs of the different learners. 
  • Utilizes a systematic approach to evaluating skill development and the transfer/application of the learning to add into a report for emerging leaders and career development sessions.
  • Attend one on ones with leaders with their employees to support with coaching.
  • Ability to engage and increase knowledge transfer using instructional design and facilitation methods.
  • Conduct one on one and 90 day check-ins with new employees and those on Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Prepare content for VP of HR and COO for use in development meetings.
  • Purpose new ideas on Proven development tools and resources.
  • Co-author a solution for a Learning Management System for employee development with VP of HR.
  • Report on progress of the development, team performance and opportunities for advancement.
  • Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as needed in department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, organizational development or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience including designing, developing, and delivering sales training sessions, (experience using the ADDIE model a plus) 
  • 5+ years of sales coaching skills
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to apply data to basic instructional methods in the preparation and conduct of training sessions
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales employees, colleagues, leadership, and clients
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work out of the Proven IT headquarters up to 3 days a week and be onsite to other sales offices the other 2 days a week
  • Possible travel to vendor and other Proven offices out of state from time to time 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

  

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee uses a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for a prolonged period. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
