As the bookkeeping co-op you would be responsible for reconciling manual bank accounts for a specific list of stores. These reconciliations occur on a month-to-month basis. This position provides exposure to our stores and the field personnel involved with store operations.
Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.
Monitor all outstanding items on the depository reconciliation system on a daily basis
Sending out letters, contacting various sources to resolve any outstanding issues
Thoroughly document any actions taken regarding missing deposits, missing checks, under / over deposits, debit and credit memos, etc.
Create journal vouchers in a timely manner for resolved items for all bank reconciliations
Assist in Month end close process
Submitting JV entries for posting to Oracle ledger system
Completing assigned bank reconciliations after completing of month end process
Handle phone calls, questions and correspondences with store managers, banks and division management
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's Degree with an Accounting or Finance focus
Ability to work in a year-round internship position no less than 12 months
Required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during normal business hours, In Office
Must have a good understanding of accounting principles in order to reconcile account balances
