**Hours of Work: 8:00 am-4:30 pm** 


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

General Diagnostic Duties 

  • Maintain professional care standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Implement Raleigh Radiology policies and procedures.
  • Perform procedures safely and efficiently, following protocols.
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, including discharge teaching.
  • Record observations and administer contrast.
  • Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency measures.
  • Maintain equipment and a clean, safe environment.
  • Communicate openly and utilize teaching opportunities.
  • Cooperate with staff and serve as a team player and role model. 

Patient Care Activities 

  • Obtain and document patient history and assessments.
  • Engage with patients for a positive experience.
  • Perform ongoing assessments, including vital signs and lab interpretations.
  • Document patient conditions and provide accurate information to radiologists.
  • Initiate emergency procedures and follow up on adverse reactions.

Safety/Infection Control 

  • Adhere to safety and infection control policies.
  • Report unsafe equipment and incidents.
  • Ensure necessary equipment is available and in working order.
  • Wear protective gear as required.

Other Duties 

  • Assess and provide age-specific treatment and care.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Perform additional duties, including scheduling and registration.

Requirements

III. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE

A. Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or commiserate experience with ARRT registration.

B. Experience: Previous experience in a busy office or hospital is preferred.

C. Certification:

1. AHA BLS certification is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Continuous AHA BLS certification is required.

2. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R)(ARRT), at time of hire.

3. Registered in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R)(MR)(ARRT) preferred upon hire.

D. Licensure: None

IV. DESIRED SKILLS

Basic patient care skills, including first aid and BLS. Excellent technical skills in MR are required. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions based on patient

condition, and the ability to follow directions. Flexibility, dependability, and professionalism are required.
