Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and driven individual to join the Analytical Development team within the R&D group as a senior scientist. The Senior scientist will work as part of the team to provide analytical chemistry support and technical expertise in support of the development of new materials and products.  They will be working to develop, optimize, validate and transfer analytical methods by applying the latest scientific methodologies.  They will serve as an authority in the field of Analytical Chemistry and works toward predetermined long range, business strategies in creative and effective ways.

You will:

  • Actively participating in project meetings related to the development of ocular medical device products and representing the Analytical R&D group on the team.  
  • Perform method development, optimization, validation and transfer activities.
  • Participate in quality/compliance improvements, specifically measurement system analysis and measurement system improvement related to raw materials and clinical supply lenses.
  • Perform Analytical R&D testing for raw materials and clinical supply lens products.
  • Stays current on new technologies or scientific developments pertaining to analytical chemistry and actively seeks ways to apply advances in order to improve processes and method development.
  • Work independently to perform research where analysis of situations or data requires and in depth evaluation of various identifiable factors in one or more areas.
  • Make decisions regarding analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and arriving at timely technical decisions.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field with 5+ years of industry experience (analytical laboratory) or a Master’s degree with 3 years of industry experience or a PhD degree in relevant technical field.
  • In-depth knowledge of liquid chromatography.
  • Experienced in analytical method development.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in both R&D and GxP working environments is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently drive projects while working collaboratively cross-functionally across the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of delivering project results
  • Must be thorough, diligent, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
