Description

Greenville University is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Director of Financial Aid to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the administration of financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while providing exceptional service to our students.


  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel prospective students and parents concerning financial aid information and procedures
  • Calculate Return to Title IV when a student withdraws from enrollment.
  • Keep informed of federal and state regulation by attending federal training workshops (NASFAA or FSA), NASFAA webinars and other workshops and training sessions as available.
  • Assist students and their parents in understanding federal regulations when filling out the FAFSA.
  • Counsel students concerning problems and special circumstances involving financial aid. Work with the Director if financial circumstances are affecting the student's retention or potential to enroll.
  • Meet individually with prospective visiting families and students who request personal appointments to answer financial aid questions and concerns, review awards, costs, and payment options.
  • Send information via EDConnect software to the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Be familiar with all institutional grants and scholarships.
  • Be knowledgeable in all policies & procedures concerning the awarding & disbursing of institutional aid.
  • Coordinate the annual file review of all Financial Aid Files. 
  • Be knowledgeable of all computer software used for Federal, State and institutional administration of Financial Aid including but not limited to: EdConnect, Title IV WAN, MAP-NET, PowerFaids, G5, ELM, OpenNet, ScholarNet, Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Be able to manage & update the financial aid portion of the college's web-site.
  • Be proficient in using the internet to access information and for downloading software programs, updates and patches.
  • Ability to learn new system operations due to constant changes in Federal and commercial software used in financial aid.
  • Manage the document imaging implementation & system after implemented.
  • Work with the Director to set up worksheets, financial aid information sheets, etc. to be used in financial aid packaging.
  • Assist in packaging traditional students.
  • Counsel prospective students and their parents concerning financial aid information and procedures. Provide estimates, as possible, for financial aid for the upcoming year.
  • Ensure all file documents are scanned and filed appropriately.
  • Review all ISIR files that are flagged for Unusual Enrollment History and Transfer Monitoring Alerts using NSLDS records and student transcripts.
  • Monitor and keep accurate records of all non-traditional program enrollment.
  • Award financial aid for all non-traditional programs: UTEP, MBA, MSM, MAE, MAT, Driver's Ed, Special Ed, and Degree Completion programs. Work with the Admissions Counselors, School of Education Office, and Adult Studies Office for these programs in communicating with students about the financial aid process. Be knowledgeable in all policies & procedures concerning the awarding and disbursement of aid to these disparate groups.
  • Ensure that the college is compliant with all federal and state regulations governing the awarding of Title IV aid. Work with other offices on campus to make certain the school's website, security office, and student and employee email notices meet federal requirements. 
  • Monitor financial aid webpages for updates to grant, scholarship, loan, forms, tutorial videos, etc. - work with marketing to keep all information up-to-date.
  • Send daily list of students who have completed a FAFSA but who have not yet contacted the school to the Admissions Director (approx. 2000 names per year).
  • Send exit counseling instructions via email to withdrawn students - ensure that all recipients of Perkins, CIOS, and Chinn loans, as well as TEACH Grant recipients receive proper exit notification. Provide staff with printed materials to send to non-responders to fulfill regulatory requirement.
  • Create and maintain online jot forms used by students and parents (scholarship, verification, additional aid request, etc.).
  • Train, supervise, and approve hours for student worker(s). 
  • Award VA benefits and ensure all VA benefit regulatory issues are under compliance. 
  • Work with IT and admission departments to coordinate the connections between the computer software and programs utilized in in each office. Including being up to date with software program, upgrades and releases with PFaids, Jenzabar EX, Saleforce, and university created programs.
