About the role

Missouri's largest defined benefit pension plan, PSRS/PEERS is looking for an innovative and motivated IT professional who will use their experience and expertise to develop, update, maintain and support PSRS/PEERS' pension application programs. The ideal candidate will also create additional programs to enhance services, and develop and maintain dynamic web pages for internal and external users.


Salary: $105,158 - $131,447 Annually

PSRS/PEERS is the largest defined benefit pension plan in Missouri. PSRS/PEERS provides pension benefits for over 307,000 Missouri public school personnel and their families. The market value of invested assets for PSRS/PEERS is approximately $55 billion.

Most of our 169 employees work out of our recently remodeled/expanded building located at 3210 West Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City. About the Job

Our Software Engineers are a critical part of the organization, building and maintaining the software applications and programs upon which the day-to-day operation of the Systems depends.

A software Engineer III works under general supervision and reports to our Application Development Manager. They play a key role in the development of detailed specifications for software solutions based on customer requirements; perform analysis, identify and develop software solutions to moderately complex technical and business problems; develop test plans, expected results, and test data; and maintain application release management tasks.

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS, engineering or a related field. Five years' experience in programming and systems analysis required. Our Software Engineer III should have knowledge of software development processes and procedures, programming concepts and languages, and systems analysis and design as well as skill in coding and testing software systems. A working knowledge of relational databases (RDBMS) and their integrity, a knowledge of agile methodologies and Scrum framework and skill in C#, HTML, JavaScript and MS.NET framework. Skill in MS SQL, Oracle, or MYSQL.
