Position Summary
Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York
Work You’ll Do
Assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis. Work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and work with the company to optimize its tax position to identify and mitigate risk areas. Assist clients in streamlining their tax compliance process, especially in the area of partnership specific tax calculations and Schedule K-1 preparation. Assist clients in various industries with: Life Events for Partnerships (formations, terminations, mergers); Inside and Outside Basis Computations; Section 704(c) and 743(b) Computations; Schedule K-1 processing; and development of custom technology solutions to streamline the compliance process. Apply federal tax compliance principles and work closely with clients as well as the Deloitte tax team to further clients’ global goals and strategies and align them with industry and economic trends. Mentor and coach junior team members. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign equivalent).
- Eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning process and technology and tax department review and optimization for investment management companies.
- Experience must include eighteen months of:
- assisting clients with schedule K-1 processing; performing complex partnership computations, including IRC 704(c) computations, basis adjustment computations under IRC 743(b);
- performing 704(c) allocations including partnership reorganizations;
- collaborating with clients to assist, design, and streamline their tax compliance processes, including partnership-specific tax calculations, allocations through tiered partnership structures, and Schedule K-1 preparation;
- researching tax regulations and codes for the purposes of providing tax compliance guidance; and
- utilizing software, including Excel and GoSystem, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside of normal commuting distance.
- Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00/year
