Job Title: Key Accounts Manager

Department: Sales

Reports To: VP of Sales

There has never been a more exciting time to join our team! LaMotte Company is looking for a Key Accounts Manager that is hands-on and an excellent team player with a positive attitude. The Key Accounts Manager will manage direct sales of established key accounts in the Environmental (water & soil), Lab Supply, Aquarium, and Aquaculture, and other assigned markets. 


This position will report directly to LaMotte’s Vice President of Sales. The candidate will be required to maintain the current daily business of the key accounts, grow the account bookings in alignment with the organizational strategy, and stay abreast of market trends for continued growth. This position can be based in either our Newark, DE, or Chestertown, MD location. 


Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Grow the bookings of the direct accounts in accordance with the sales business strategy by developing annual business plans, and tracking, and reporting performance against the plan on a monthly and quarterly basis.

2. Direct customer sales of LaMotte products for the specified industries.

3. Conduct customer visits, customer product training, quoting, technical support, application evaluations, and presentations of product offerings.

4. Strategize and grow direct accounts, while identifying other prospects within the assigned industries for additional growth.

5. Research competitive products and market trends, share the gathered information with the Product Management team and provide suggestions for new features to be included in the future. 

6. Maintain working knowledge of LaMotte’s product lines.

7. Work closely with the Marketing team to create and prepare marketing collateral.

8. Efficiently manage the accounts, opportunities, and contacts.

9. Provide forecasting for the direct accounts and update on a quarterly basis.

10. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance when representing the company.

11. Periodic travel is required to visit specific key accounts and attend trade shows and other industry events. Estimated travel is approximately 25%.

12. Develop and maintain strong business relationships at key accounts.

13. Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others in a team environment.

14. Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business or a Technical discipline is required

· 3 – 5 years of sales-related experience required

· Strong business development and key account management skills

· Ability to sell to major accounts 

· Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and analytical skills

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal skills


Environmental Factors & Physical Demands

Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment primarily in an office setting working on the computer or phone. No significant exertion is required. Travels to both plants to interact with employees and managers and attend meetings. Travels to offsite training sessions/seminars, meetings, and other locations as needed. Some international travel may be required.

Requirements
