Role Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Migration Lead Engineer to lead the modernization of batch processing systems. This role requires strong experience with Apache Airflow, AWS MWAA, and Autosys. The candidate will be responsible for leading the migration of legacy Autosys jobs to cloud-native AWS MWAA workflows.
You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):
MWAA Migration and Strategy Leadership- Lead the migration from Autosys to AWS MWAA
- Create and execute migration strategies and plans
- Translate Autosys workflows into optimized Airflow DAGs
- Develop scalable, reliable batch pipelines using Airflow and Python
- Configure and manage MWAA environments
- Implement best practices in Airflow development and CI/CD integration
- Analyze and understand existing Autosys jobs and schedules
- Work with legacy teams to ensure complete migration coverage
- Guide and mentor a team of migration engineers
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards
- Provide training on Airflow and cloud migration best practices
- Collaborate with product owners and SMEs on data pipeline design
- Define architecture strategy for batch processing
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for MWAA
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, ECS Fargate, and EKS
- Design and implement end-to-end cloud-based batch solutions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 15+ years of experience in software development (Java, JEE, RDBMS)
- 5+ years of experience with Apache Airflow (including complex DAG development)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Autosys
- Proven experience migrating Autosys to AWS MWAA
- 5+ years of Python programming
- Deep knowledge of AWS services including IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Background in financial services or legacy enterprise environments
