Description
Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We believe in fostering a supportive and individualized environment that aids in each student’s growth and development.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Maintenance Associate to support the daily upkeep, safety, and functionality of our school facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Facilities Director, you will perform regular maintenance, handle emergency repairs, and support school operations through various building support tasks.
Position Type: 12-Month Full-Time Position
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Responsibilities:
Cleaning:
- Perform duties to ensure the cleanliness of offices, classrooms, and common areas.
- Respond to pages for emergency cleaning needs in a timely fashion.
- Maintain and store equipment and cleaning tools.
- May be required to cover night shift custodial position as needed.
Maintenance:
- Perform a variety of routine servicing and repair operations on school buildings, equipment, furnishings, and fixtures.
- Identify maintenance needs and report them to the Facilities Director.
- Maintain grounds in proper order, including lawn care and snow removal as required.
- Install partitions, doors, window frames/glass, ceiling tiles, and floor coverings.
- Assemble new equipment and furniture as needed.
- Change light bulbs as needed.
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint as needed.
Building Support:
- Accept and distribute deliveries to the school.
- Lift, move, and transport all types of supplies, equipment, and furniture when needed.
- Facilitate set-up and breakdown of meeting room chairs and tables, as well as the stage and tents when necessary.
- Assist with monitoring and facilitation of safety drill procedures.
Compliance:
- Perform safety inspections on equipment as scheduled.
- Comply with Aramark Best Practices when performing all cleaning tasks.
- Safely use chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Follow MSDS guidelines and precautions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred
- Experience in carpentry, painting, or automotive repair is a plus
