General Summary:

Unum is seeking a new  Content Copywriter to add to the team! This position is responsible for copywriting in support of driving adoption and utilization of digital technology solutions among both client and consumer audiences, with a dual focus on our Unum and Colonial Life brands. This includes working closely with Content Strategy and Operations Manager, as well as Digital Adoption Leads, in producing copy that aligns to business initiatives and message strategy, working with Design partners to produce assets and coordinating with the Digital Automation Lead on publication and dissemination

Job Specifications

  • 4-year college degree required 
  • 2-4 years of Marketing experience with an emphasis on content marketing, customer adoption, and digital product marketing 
  • Experience collaborating with strategy and design teams 
  • Experience utilizing project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com) to track work and feedback 
  • Understanding of content management and customer relationship management platforms 
  • Experience copywriting for multi-channel campaigns

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with Digital Adoption Leads, Product and Journey Owners, and UX Designers to produce content to support digital adoption initiatives, aligned to business goals, audiences and message strategy. 
  • With support from manager, work to develop influencing skills to motivate behaviors of clients and consumers to drive growth and retention of uses on digital portals and technology platforms.
  • Understand digital customer journeys and align content to the audience perspective, pain points and characteristics identified by research partners for audiences with various levels of technological fluency. 
  • Support Digital Adoption Leads in developing core content assets that are ideal drivers for audience engagement, digital adoption and utilization. 
  • Distill complex processes into simple, persuasive language with a clear “what’s in it for me?” value statement. 
  • Work closely with product owners to understand the company’s digital tools and speak to their value to segmented audiences. 
  • Perform primary writing duties to produce assets including, but not limited to, messaging frameworks, email campaigns, landing pages, interactive voice response (IVR), video scripts, UX copy, intranet articles, etc. 
  • Ownership of “always-on” client and consumer communications 
  • May perform other duties as assigned
