About the role

SCOPE OF WORK: The Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Program Coordinator coordinates EFDA course offerings, ensuring alignment with NH Dental Certification Regulations and national standards, with responsibility for curriculum development, class preparation, attendee management, providing clinical and didactic instruction. And collaborating with Workforce Education on scheduling, supplies, and certification processes. This position shall report to the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Schedules annual EFDA course offerings in collaboration with Workforce Education.
  • Manages class preparation, including supply procurement and order tracking.
  • Identifies, recommends, and schedules supervising dentists and hygienists for clinical instruction.
  • Revises and updates the EFDA curriculum to reflect current best practices and scheduling needs.
  • Coordinates clinical curriculum with online didactic components, including readings, video demonstrations, quizzes, and discussions in CANVAS.
  • Facilitates asynchronous and synchronous lessons and activities during EFDA course sessions.
  • Oversees applicant packet management, tracks progress, and coordinates registration and payment processes with Workforce Education.
  • Tracks and approves candidates' clinical requirements, ensuring appropriate dentist sign-offs and completion documentation.
  • Approves certifications and collaborates with Workforce Education for certificate creation and distribution.
  • Responds to inquiries and assesses student satisfaction, instructor effectiveness, and program quality.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the dental continuing education program, including customer inquiries, instructional materials, course logistics, and student and instructor support.
  • Reviews instructional materials and oversees the course evaluation process.
  • Collaborates with the Workforce Education Director for long-term planning and needs assessment to ensure program sustainability and growth.
  • Complies with all college, system, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in dental technology, dentistry, dental hygiene, dental education, health sciences, education, or related field. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in education or health sciences requires an Associate’s degree in dental technology, dental hygiene, dental assisting or dental education.

Experience: Two years’ experience as a dental hygienist, dental assistant, or as an instructor within the discipline of dental technology, dental hygiene, or dental assisting.

Or

Education: Associate's degree from a recognized college or university in dental technology, dental hygiene, dental assisting, or related discipline.

Experience: Four years’ experience as a dental hygienist, dental assistant, or as an instructor within the discipline of dental technology, dental hygiene, or dental assisting.
